Talking to kids about business/enterprise

My 7 y/o DS talks a lot about what she wants to be when she grows up. We've progressed past 'princess' to 'teacher', but I can't help thinking it's just because she is surrounded by teachers.

I want to make sure she meets and hears of people who do a load of different things - does any one have any tips or discussions to start?

I also read this article and have been trying out these - the one about asking why you're standing in a queue is very clever!

Our school has Enterprise Week once a year, it's briliant. My kids did so well during this week the school had to invent a new Enterprise Week award for them ;) So I suggest you talk to your school and suggest they do the same.

I read the article, and it's really good, thank you. I must admit we do watch Dragons Den with them, though.

If you think she has an entrepreneurial spirit and would be interested in and might to well in this sort of area, there are lots of people making money on ebay. I would try selling some of her or your old stuff on ebay with her. Watch dragons den. Run a stall at the school fete and see if she is up for helping. Help her organise an event to raise money for charity e.g. red nose day

However 7 is probably slightly young to know what she would like to be. At this age I would probably get her involved in different after school clubs especially cubs or brownies where they get introduced to lots of different activities.

The new young rich are making money on you tube but that might have changed by the time your DD is late teens.
