How do I get tv/movies in other languages

Apologies; not sure where to put this thread. We got a smart tv and I would like my children to watch tv/movies in their second language, is there an easy option/ application to do this? I know they can search the tittle in YouTube but this is not always easy/straightforward unless I do the search for them and there are not many complete movies in YouTube. I want them to have more chance to practice their second language.

Go to the setting it should give you options.

Probably not useful, but when we go to country of second language, we stock up on DVD's. Need to be careful about which region they will play in, but if we pick up 10 every three years, then watch those ad nauseum til the next visit. Luckily our I DS are still young enough that a favourite is demanded again and again. Careful selection sees us through.

For programmes via Freeview, I doubt if the audio language can be changed, though it might be possible for 'subtitles' to be changed. Maybe for channels like Netfix it might be possible. DVDs might be a better option, but even then there will only be a limited range of languages, I would guess.

If you have cable or satellite, it might be possible to sometimes receive 'foreign' content. And BBC do a FEW alternative languages on 'red button' occasionally, which may be 601 on Freeview.

There are a few web sites on the subject, but I can't find any really helpful ones. Maybe try your TV manufacturer website.

FreeSat dish and box, from around fifty pounds for the most basic, will give you hundreds of foreign channels. We have one to watch formula one when the BBC don't show it live. We watch it on the German RTL channel, also quite fond of a Korean soap.

Local library may have foreign language DVDs.

Normal DVDs have a surprising variety of other language options.

My DD1 is doing Spanish A level, and we recently reviewed our ~100 DVDs to find some in Spanish for her to watch. We found a grand total 6, but along the way found German, Hebrew, Slovak, Russian, etc etc.

Smart TV box from Droidsticks. Hook up to TV install wookie and get loads of foreign channels including kids options. Takes a bit if navigating but is fine once you get used to it. Options come from around 60 - 200 quid. We got it for same reason and fir DH to watch his beloved sport. Quite like the Brazilian telenovelas they are quite funny.
