Falkner House and Glendower waitlists

Hello

What do I do? My child has been wait listed at our two top choices.. is there anything that can be done to move us up the waitlist or improve our chances of being offered a place? I have been told to write a handwritten letter to the Headmistress, do references from parents with children already in the school help at all? I don't want to be ringing and hounding the schools, wouldn't that just serve to annoy them rather than help?

We declined KP (last night) and GP (last week), so the list should definitely be moving.

Why the surprise?

People often apply for more than one prep, and turn down the ones they think do not suit so well.

Turning down KP was hard as we really loved that school (and GP too). We accepted NLCS. It has its pros and cons, but it gave us more comfort that our DD will have the ability to stay in one top-quality school (bar any surprises) until she is 18.

We chose Glendower too! See you at the school gates in Sept, Hamptons99! Any word, Titto0805? What happened in the end?

DD1 went to Glendower many moons ago ( she has now graduated and started her first job!) but we both still smile when we drive past the white building on the corner...Is it still a vegetarian lunches only school I've been wondering?
