Rotherfield Primary or New North Academy??

Hi there
This is my first post ever so please bare with me lol
I am currently applying for reception (sept 2016) for my son who is my first born (hence not much experience)
I have 4 days left to submit the application but am completely lost as to which school is better.
When i say 'better' i mean a school which is friendly and supportive towards parents with good communication and also good caring teachers who actually care for the younger kids who need morr looking after.
My son is currently at Nursery at New North Academy but i dont feel like the teachers there communicate well with parents and that they dont take care of kids as well. i.e. Children coming out in wet clothes (when change of clothes are always provides) and scratches and grazes on their faces almost daily :/
Anyway im rambling but just wanted to provide as much info and would very much appreciate to hear from any parents who's children go to Rotherfield or even New North to share their experiences.
I know many other parents at New North who are happy, so it might just be the class my son is in at the moment :/

I am local and have heard increasingly positive reports about Rotherfield, especially as to the quality of the staff, over the last couple of years. However I do not have a child there so cannot speak from direct experience. Hope someone with better info can help you out.

Hello All- I just signed up to mumsnet and this is my first post. Does anyone have any more views they could share on Rotherfield Primary School? I have discovered that this is the only school we are in the catchment area for- narrowly missing out on Hanover. Primary school is some time away for us, and I appreciate much could change, but I have become concerned that we may need to move house and any more info would be gratefully received.

The catchment area for Rotherfield looks suspiciously large relative to the other schools in the area- not sure if this is a function of size or indicates it is not in high demand? I am interested in any general thoughts or comments you may be able to share (teaching, atmosphere, happy children etc). Also, there looks to be a fairly large proportion of children who do not speak English as a first language- not unusual in London I know- but does this hamper teaching and attainment of higher levels?

Hi All I’m just wondering what school you all chose in the end? My sons got a year until I apply for reception but Iv applied for nursery places & would like to keep him in the same school once he’s settled. I am thinking of rotherfield for my ds. But also considering applying to the new north academy. So any feedback would be great thanks :)
