What can I take for ds2 to keep him occupied during ds1's concert?

Last year I had to miss ds1's nursery concert because ds2 (now 2yrs and 9mths) was crying so I had to leave the room. The whole thing, with all the Reception and Year 1 classes this year will be 1.5hrs long. Luckily ds1's class is on first. But I would like to stay for most of it and would welcome suggestions for things to keep ds2 occupied.

some stickers that he could put on some paper, or on himself?

Food. Oatcakes and raisins are good.

grapes also good, tiny cubes of chees that take a while to pick up useful. second also stickers, your phone (turned off) anything else generally forbidden - like being allowed to rummage in your handbag. good luck

oohh thank you for the suggestions - stickers are good, food might be a problem because then he may need the toilet .

Is it a daytime thing - I'd brought a couple of activities which were scuppered because the hall was darkened.

Would definitely try to leave him - 1.5 hours is very long.

I would love to leave him but there's no-one to leave him with. He is also quite excited about it now, have explained that he has to be very quiet and am putting together a little bag with stickers etc.

Even then I probably won't be able to stay for all of it.

books with flaps etc.

corrina28 · 14/12/2006 11:36

books and/or wooden puzzles, would take him a little something to nibble on as well.

Well we went, just got back. The concert was very sweet and I managed to stay for all of it. Got there early so managed to get seats in the second row and took stickers, little toys and a lolly and some chocolate buttons for ds2. He was pretty good through most of it but started to get ratty towards the end. Luckily the lady next to me had some toys that quietened him down, so I was very pleased to see the whole thing.
