I used to be such a committed, interested and involved mum ... and organised too.

I embarrassed myself today

I went to the school Christmas Fayre [sic.] along with c.1000 other people. (School has 480 children). I was buying a raffle ticket and ds1's teacher (who has only met me once) recognised me before I realised who she was (ds1 was upstairs with dh at the time btw) ...

That was bad enough ... Then she said "Ds1 was telling me what fantastic cakes you bake, and he was disappointed you hadn't made any this year?" It was very politely but jokily meant, but I was already feeling embarassed as both dh and I had completely forgotten to send in anything at all for the Christmas Fayre.

So I quickly handed over loads of dash and disappeared quickly!

Ah well, at least you were at the Christmas Fayre and financial support is always appreciated

oh don't worry - we all have our involved times and times when life is too much. At my sons school a lot of parents don't even go to the school fair.

It's not that bad - you sound like you are being a bit hard on yourself.
