HI. we applied for a 7+ entry bursary...and now thinking what would be the long term - 13+ ? is KCS a go-through school?

also, how far do children travel on coach - West London wise?
Thank you

Are you talking about Kings in Wimbledon? If you are, KCJS goes from 7-13 and then the senior school goes till 18. The coaches go all over the place. Where do you live?

KCS is all through - there's a test at the end of juniors to get in to senior school but they all pass or are phased out before hand if it doesn't look like they will. They won't prep them for other tests or school entry so you need to be committed to 18.

KCJS and KCS are separate schools on the same site. I suspect you would need to reapply for a bursary for the senior school but so long as your financial circumstances don't change it would be OK.

You would need to pass the 'transfer exam' at 13+ satisfactorily. It may be that by that time KCS starts at 11+ anyway - they look to be moving that way.

Boys commute on the bus from all over. Have a look at the bus routes on the website. Esher is about the furthest I can think of 'out west'.

I've never heard of anyone from Ealing in either the senior or the junior school. Sorry!

The bus routes are as follows:
Banstead & Sutton
Bayswater & Kensington
Chelsea & Fulham
Clapham Balham & Trinity Road
Hammersmith & Barnes
Kew & Sheen
Kingston & Surbiton
Oxshott & Esher
Richmond & Kingston
Turnham Green & Chiswick

Anywhere useful?

the coaches are no good for us - we are too far...unless I move into the area because of my son's schooling...and look into changing jobs tec

Is it too late for you to apply to closer schools such as Durston House?
