We've looked round our two local primary schools this month and both have the two reception classes in one space, with two teachers obviously. That's about 60 kids in an open plan environment. Is this normal?! What are the advantages/disadvantages? Our favoured school does at least have a break-out room where they separate into classes for formal teaching bits, but the other one (the catchment one unfortunately) also has the 25 pre-school kids in that space too!
Anyone have experience of this? We're already concerned about big class sizes for pfb ds.
