No, my DTs just started nursery but I'm in that area so just wanted to say good luck and hope Dd gets the results she wants. Good luck Smile

I hear results day is tomorrow isn't it? Fingers crossed for your DD Buttwing. I hope she gets into the school she wants.

Yes I'm expecting Altrincham girls tomorrow and Sale and Loreto early next week. I'm not holding my breath for Altrincham there was over 1000 girls apply for 160 places and it's not my first choice.

Thanks for responding I'm keeping everything crossed Smile

For what it's worth my DD goes to Alti and loves it. (I'm not convinced). She has friends at both Loretto and Sale, and Wellington and Knutsford, and they all really like their schools too! We are lucky here.

Twins here. DS passed for AGSB, waiting for his sister's results tomorrow. One of the only times other than pretty much all of Year 5 I've struggled with being a twin parent.

Buttwing · 16/10/2015 22:33

Two wrongs that's very true we are lucky, I was blown away by Altrincham at the parents evening and thought the girls were exactly the kind of girl I hope by dd will grow into. I just feel loreto would be a better fit for her. If you don't mind me asking (feel free not to answer!) but how have have you found the pastoral care? Is it a caring school or is it more focused on results?

Namechanged- having two to get through this must have been a nightmare!!! Fingers crossed for your dd and congratulations for you Ds!!

Buttwing - you could say that Smile.

Good luck for the results !

Twowrongsdontmakearight · 16/10/2015 23:46

Hi Buttwing,

In my opinion Alti Girls doesn't seem to be as caring as the boy's school. You get the feeling that everything has to be done their way because that's the way they've always done it. Little things that are really annoying!

In terms of results, DD has just started in Year 8 so it's early days yet. She gets less homework than DS did at Alti Boys at that stage and certainly doesn't seem to be at all pressurised!

However, DD really likes it! She has a nice group of friends and has settled in well. She went without any of her friends from primary so has had to start from scratch.

Thanks twowrongs it's really helpful to hear someone's point of view who's got a daughter at the school.

Our postman doesn't come until later and we are out all morning so will check the postbox when I get back.
