Accessibility issue

I am a wheelchair user and there is a problem with accessibility to a particular gate at my sons school. I mentioned it to the teacher and they said they will pass on the message, but there is an electrical fault with it that is a problem to fix (no reason given as to why). It has been like it for over a year now.

What is my next step? Letter to the head? Cc anyone?

I would write to the Head and copy to the Chair of Governors.

I would put it in writing to the Governing Body.

I have the chairs name, a councillor. Do you think (sorry this may be a stupid question!) i should send it c/o the school or civic centre?
