Does your child's class have a 'Warning System'

I'm getting slightly concerned at DS getting warnings fairly constantly

In the main they are for talking rather than what I would consider 'bad' behaviour .. although I do appreciate that 5 year olds need to be quiet and listen I can also see why he finds it a bit difficult but I have been trying to reinforce it at home with a positive (ie if you can go till end of week without getting a warning then you can have xx)

In his class there's a 3 warnings and they get time-out ... His teacher said DS has never had more than 2 warnings in one day (so at least he's smart enough to know when to control it )

I have been told that its mainly an issue when he's sitting with his best friend so they're not allowed to sit together

But today he said he was sitting next to him in assembly and he got 2 warnings because, and this is from DS "friend was talking to him and he did it too" ... so naturally I asked if 'friend' got warnings too and he said 'no' which confuses me slightly

but then again, who can trust what 5 year olds say eh?

I think I want to know what kind of 'stick' thing goes on in your child's class .. they also have a 'carrot' approach of stickers

I have no idea what goes on in ds2's class - either he is as good as gold - or I know nothing

you decide

Dd has told me about a boy who is often on amber or red, she says she is always on green so I guess it is traffic lights in her school.
