Hi.. I will be relocated by my company from Thailand to Uk. My office is at Kings Hill, West Malling, Kent. I have 1 boy 12 years now in Grade 7 and a Girl 9 years in Grade 4 here in Bangkok. I will be moving in April/May 2016. Which part of the Kent should I live keeping the safety of my kids. I am ready to commute for 30-40 minutes. Can anybody advise of any schools and how get admission as I have heard that the school admission starts early this year. I cant come there until April 2016. Any advise/suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Regards

I suggest you phone the grammar schools to ask how to apply for an in year for your oldest. They may accept school reports or may administer a test. You'd get a place if there were spaces only.
Maidstone is a better bet than Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells as the school options are more varied
Two boys Grammars, two girls grammars and several secondary mods (pm for their names) and a Catholic school.

Queens Rd is nice and so is Loose village. Lots of nice places to live.
I grew up there so message me if you want more details.
What's your house budget do you know?
I have Estate agent contacts in Maidstone as well which may be helpful.
Good luck

HeisInfuriating Thanks for your information. I have no idea of budget yet but still looking on and calculating cost of living

The how long is a piece of string questions!

When I've got time later, I'll PM stuff like house bills council tax etc and school bus passes, leasing or buying a car and so on if that helps.

Use money supermarket.com as well for mortgage affordability, and household bills.
Or start a new thread in chat asking folks who live in the area what they spend a month and on what.
