please help - I am so devastated that I did not watch my daughter brush the teeth and a big problem now. she says that the 6th tooth is hurting...I visited to children's dentist - she said that she could try to save some decayed teeth, if not - they will be out. the next appointment in 3 weeks' time and even then she will just do brushing of teeth. What shall I do? Go private before it is too late?

How many teeth did the dentist say they will remove ??

Unless it's just one, or maybe 2 in different places, IME they usually try anything to save teeth at that age, so that the adult teeth can grow through in the correct place.

Though if it's just one or 2, don't worry to much. It's not great, but can happen even with excellent teeth brushing & a very healthy diet. My DD has weak tooth enamel & this happened to her too.

If your DD doesn't brush well & eats too many sweets, you do need to tackle that. A new dentist won't help there.

If your dentist is wanting to take out lots of teeth, that is odd & I would want a second opinion
