Backpack for dd with soft straps

I am looking for a rucksack/backpack for my 8 year old dd to use for school. She finds the straps on her current one very hard and uncomfortable. Apparently some of her friends have a brand called Hotstyle like this one:

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00L18WAVW?keywords=hotstyle%20rucksack&qid=1441532991&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1

Dd says her friend has one like this and it has very soft faux leather straps....but apparently the design has changed now.

Any other suggestions please?

Hi,

I got one for my 7yo from Clarks. It is fab. Unfortunately, they don't appear to be available to view online though. And she's at school just now with it, so can't even take a pic to show you.

It's a great size, cushioned/padded straps, dark blue with red trim and has red mini hearts all the way across. The trim lights up via a button tucked inside the bag, which will be great for walking home in winter nights. Think it was around £20.

What about a couple of seat belt shoulder pads around the straps. They're in the pound shops and home bargains etc.

Her old one is pretty knackered anyway so could do with replacing.

The Clarks one sounds fab zelda

I'll post a picture of it later when my little girl gets in from school, Dancergirl

Then you can pop in/phone your local Clarks to check if they have any in stock. Confused why they don't show them online.

My dd has a Tresspass one, from the Tresspass shop, it was £10, I've never seen such padded straps on a backpack before sheltered life Grin

I am home from the Clarks shop with the backpack zelda. They said I could get a refund if dd doesn't like it. Looks nice and well padded though, which bits light up? I won't be able to try the lights unless dd is keeping it, have to keep the labels on.

Ah, they showed us the lights in the shop with a demo one before we decided to buy it. It's the trim around the medium sized section that lights up in the centre of the bag. there are three settings I think. One for flashing lights, one for constant light, and one for a faster flashing light. The button for it is hidden in a little pouch in the medium sized section/pocket.

So the Clarks one and the Amazon one are both going back, they're not comfortable apparently Confused

I have no idea what she means really. She said something about it not being flat against her back even though I adjusted the straps....
