Applying to state primary schools in Islington

Hi all

I'm looking at applying online for state primary schools and am finding it really hard to identify six schools to put down. My top three schools are William Tyndale, Thornhill then Canonbury.

However, I'm not sure what to put after that. Does anyone know anything about St Mary's Cof E, New North Academy, Rotherfield or Laycock? Is there anywhere else I should put down?

I live extremely close to William Tyndale so this may be academic. However, I understand it is still a good idea to use all six choices.

I know of Ambler, Gillespie, Grafton, Hanover and Yerbury but there is no chance whatsoever we could get a place at any of those based on last year's distance cut off map.

If any of you have any advice, I'd be grateful for it.

My DD attends one of the schools you list as further away from you so no firsthand experience...
I know of people with kids at Laycock and they are very happy with it. It also seems to be undersubscribed so good to put it down.Everyone I know who has been liked it and the headteacher. Drayton Park may be worth a thought too?

Put at least one that is undersubscribed and nearish to you in case the worst happens.

How close to William tyndale are you? The catchment is so small. I would like canonbury but their catchment is shrinking. Drayton park worth a shot but theirs is too.

I'm about 100m from William Tyndale.

No chance of getting into Drayton Park based on the cut off maps.

Actually it is 150m from William Tyndale.

Do any of you know anything about St Mary Magdalene? We are not religious - is it pointless adding it to the list?

The church attendance is 48 over 2 years but it's a weird church.

Ah, thanks. I did get an email back from the lady there but she didn't really say whether we would get in, just that priority is given to children who attend church.
