Primary school geography textbook....? (also, Galore Park related)

Well, I am currently putting together a stack of resources that I'll use to support my daughter's English education while she goes through Japanese elementary school.

I've got the Galore Park junior history books lined up and am going to get the junior Science and junior English books too. They seem very good. However, there doesn't seem to be a junior Geography book (although there are some geography books aimed at older kids aged 11-13 or so).

Can anyone recommend a geography textbook for primary school aged children which is similar to the Galore Park series in approach? I'm a little perplexed by the extreme lack of British primary school level textbooks in general, to be honest. Do British primary schools just not use textbooks or something?

If I can't find anything, I guess I'll have to see if I can find something in the Singapore state textbooks, since at least those are in English. But a little bit of focus on British geography would be nice, ideally!

Looking out for RE-related books too, in the same vein....

You could try the 100 lessons series, I think there's a geography set in there!

You mean this one? Can I ask if it is similar to Galore Park?

It won't be the same as the galore park. It's lesson plans with worksheets to support activities if it's anything like the rest of the 100 lessons books. They're not textbooks.

You are mostly right that English primary schools don't use textbooks often. Even the ones that are available for some subjects aren't widely used. When they are used teachers tend to dip in and out rather than use them as a scheme of work.

Bummer. I guess I will have to try the Well Trained Mind forum then. It's funny that GP doesn't do a junior Geography. Oh well, thanks for the input anyway!
