DD starts reception a week Monday but what does she actually need in her school bag? Pencils? A change of clothes? Anything else?

(We see her teacher next Friday for a 1-1 meet but I go shopping a Wednesday so would like to be sorted before then!)

Wellies are for using the outside area when it has been raining and there are puddles. Doesn't have to be actively raining to need to avoid wet feet.

Be prepared they will be outside whatever the weather!

Here we provide all craft materials even plates, bags, tissues, wet wipes and a variety of glues ... All things on my shopping list last weekend.

In my dc's school they just avoid the puddles at play time. Don't think the teacher would be too impressed waiting for 30 children to take there shoes on and off.

I panicked when mine started all they need is
1 in school uniform
2 a book bag
3 pe kit

If the need anything else they ask you to bring it. DD1 old school asked for rain coat and wellies to be kept at school but these were requested after she started. As a side note name tag everything even shoes.
