Choosing between Princes Mead and St. Swithuns: Winchester, advice please

Hi - I am moving to Winchester next year and so I have recently been to see both Princes Mead and St. Swithuns and like them both. My daughter will be going into year 2 (next Sept) and I am torn on which one to choose. Ideally for senior school we'd like her to go to St. Swithuns senior school (so she doesn't have a long journey to Salisbury or Southhampton for example) but of course that depends on whether she is academic or not (and who knows when she is only 5 at the moment!) I'd be really keen to hear from parents who have children at either of those schools. We are looking for somewhere nurturing and friendly. Thanks for any advice :-)

Thanks Dancingqueen, v good to know. Still working out where to live, husband will ideally commute to london from Micheldever station, so we are looking at villages to the North of Winchester, have thought about Sparsholt, Chilbolton, Wonston, Easton and Crawley, would be so grateful for any thoughts on any of those- looking for a nice community village...thank you :-)
