Extra small school uniform

I'm having real difficulty finding school uniform for just turned 4 dd, specifically a cardigan/sweater. I've got t-shirts and pinafores coming from m and s who do a 2-3 size, but they don't do jumpers that small. I've bought a trutex cardi from their 2-3 size, but it's still far too big. I've tried school outfitters, asda, next, bhs, Debenhams, but all no good.

I need a royal blue sweater material cardigan - any good ideas where I can get one please!

Matalan does size 3 school uniform, but they only seem to have knitted cardigans.

Or I found this. www.schooluniform247.co.uk/Sweatshirt-School-Cardigan

To be honest though, they soon shrink with regular washing. And tumble drying.

What about this one from eBay?

Find another school mum with a tiny DD, or see if the school sells second hand uniform. Your best bet is a garment in the smallest size available that someone else has worn washed and pre shrunk!

Thanks for the replies everyone. Unfortunately the 247 and EBay links give the same size as the trutex that I already have which is too big - 22inch chest. You're right though that these will all probably shrink a bit in the wash so perhaps I'll just get washing the one I have in a 60 degree wash!
I might give up the idea of the sweater material and just go for a knitted version.

This seems to have a size 2-3yr available with a 19/20in chest.

Thanks for that link Whendoisleep. The one I currently have is a trutex which was sold as a 2-3 size, but the tag inside it says 22 inches, so maybe this one will be just right - thanks for finding this!

I hope it is a better fit for your DD. The official Trutex site has a 22in chest listed as size 3-4yrs.

Ds1 just turned 4 and starts reception in two weeks - he is o.4th centile and tiny!

I have bought smallest m&s sizes but school branded stuff ( jumper, pe kit, art overall, coat) only come in age 4. He will just have to swim in them and roll up sleeves etc!

Hello - you can actually order a size 1/2 by Trutex for the Crew Neck or V-neck Sweatshirt (not available in cardigan)
Inches size is 18/19. They have stock and Mumsnet users get 15% discount! www.mumsnet.com/partner-offers/trutex

My DD1 is just under the 9th centile and we had real problems getting her uniform when she started nursery. We ended up buying her boys formal trousers from Marks as we couldn't get uniform trousers that fit and the dresses/skirts were a joke (yay for wedding season). Like the last poster we couldn't get a cardigan and ended up with a couple of sweatshirts.

However, do you know anyone with children at the school? A lot of the girls at DD1's school were wearing knitted cardigans rather than the sweatshirt ones anyway. Once we found this out Grandma knitted us some that actually fit.

Super ideas here - thanks so much. Trutex link with discount is fab.
