My son achieved Level 3s in Reading, Speaking and listening, Maths and Science and Level 2A in writing will he be classed as high ability?

With regards to grouping it will depend on his cohort. There are times when a child can be well above average, but due to extremely able cohort is actually below average for the cohort. I have had tears with year 6 DD over results because on this.
