Apologies, this question has probably been asked a thousand times already but I'm a new mumsnetter.

My daughter is in year 1 and she has a reading book which can be changed once read twice and we have a keywords book to practice.

As of this week they will be bringing home a numeracy game (snakes n ladders/dice games etc).

She doesn't get any spelling though?

I was expecting more to be honest, especially spelling. What do your little ones get?

A reading book comes home every day and can be changed whenever dd wants to, as long as she chooses from the right level.

Other than that we get a sheet each half-term with some words to learn, and various suggestions of activities to do. Stuff like using coins to make up different amounts; estimating a quantity, then checking it.

All feels fairly low key, and just as I like it.

I'm sitting here stunned that there is any homework at all at this age.I certainly don't remember having any homework at infants(although it was rather a long time ago )

We def had a book and spellings - but not sure if I had spellings in year one - can't remember.
