'Cat' words, 'dog' words, 'caterpillar' words etc

Does anyone else's school group their reading/spelling words into these groups or is it just specific to my dd's school? If anyone does know what i'm talking about could you please tell me what the caterpillar words are as dd is supposed to be learning her caterpillar spellings and we've lost them!!

sounds like specific to the school - for example ds2 has fruits as groups in his class and they use planets for ds1.

We have caterpillar letters - they're the round ones with joining up tails. But I'm so off the whole reading thing, and DD1 is so anti-reading as well, that I don't care if I never see another word again. Aaarghhhhhhh.
