I got a letter today - saying our appeal had been noted and was being processed.. and we would here soon (we put our letter in 10 working days ago)..

I was excited when I saw the letter and now I just feel anxious..

Not heard anything here yet, appeal handed in 7 working days ago so hoping/expecting to hear in the next few days.

The whole process has made me anxious Hmm

At least it's being dealt with, good luck.

Appeals for secondary schools are taking place now and primary appeals tend to start in early June and run through to well into July.

mine is a primary appeal ..

processing sounds so formal ...

The admission authority should be able to tell you roughly when the appeals will be heard - eg I know ours are w/c 13/7 (I'm the admissions governor so have to book the time off work if we get any appeals!)

its a church school - so the appeals are not done by the authority - I don't think ..

as a church (so VA?) school they are the admission authority, so they are responsible for arranging the appeals - I've known it work two ways, either the school buy into the LA service to organise the appeals or the Diocese organise all the appeals on the school's behalf. (it will be an independent panel regardless).
Either way the school will know roughly when they are as they will have been allocated a block of days to keep free so that the relevant people can attend the appeal hearings (At least that's how it works in my LA and I would imagine others are similar, as there are only so many appeals panel people and clerks to go round and they are in huge demand at this time of year! We knew the rough dates for any appeals in our area months ago.)
