That's the one attached to St John the Baptist parish, isn't it? Had a new name after amalgamating from infants and nursery school both with different names? In Bethnal Green?

If it's the one I'm thinking of, then it has a reasonably good reputation. I know several children who did go there, but have since moved on (several to secondary schools, a couple to my children's primary school in the next parish along). It is in a v. mixed area (obviously) but seems to have a reasonable mix of kids from supportive and ambitious homes. The children who moved to our school did so for reasons of convenience (distance to school etc) rather than because the school was bad.

Whereabouts do you live? And are you Catholic? I think the school is over-subscribed, so might be worth getting hold of the admissions policy and checking you qualify.

I know at least one person who is or used to be a governor there do you want me to get the lowdown? If you want specifics, you probably ought to CAT me so we can discuss off-board don't want to libel anyone!

Hi frogs, I am Italian by the way, a Catholic married to an Anglican though, so we attend for the sake of the peace of our family (haha) my husband's Anglican church, convenient for us, as we live very close to it, we only go to the Italian Church for special occasions, my son's baptism, Christmas, etc. We live close to Vicky park by the way. I would be very interested in knowing a bit of gossip about St Elizabeth school, if your acquaintance can help it would be great. I assume CAT is a way of swapping private emails, I don't mind writing mine here as it doesn't contain my surname. It's: [email protected].
