We are going to apply late to reception due to family move, does anyone have any idea about waiting lists for any schools in Carshalton or Wallington? If movement has started yet??

Hi, I don't know about waiting lists this year, but my DD goes to Stanley Park infants and I just wanted to put in a good word for the school. She is Y1 now and very happy and settled, and seems to be doing very well academically despite being a summer baby.

You have chosen a great area school wise to move to. You may have problems getting in if you choose Stanley Park or Barrow Hedges as they are generally over subscribed, but the new bandon hill may be worth a try.

Good luck!

I've been on the waiting list for my daughter to get into year 2.. for a full year - we have moved from position 1 to 2.. in this time (we live 0.5 of a mile from the school)

I think if you apply sooner rather than later - you have a good chance.. that said - there is a 'vacancy checker' on line - and a few schools have had spaces for reception all year.. so it really depends which school you are trying to get into to. (the school I'm trying to get dd into has reception places but not year 2).

Oh vacancy checker? Where can i find that? Have heard good things about Stanley park too, am worried as all seem to have all places filled according to those i know that live there!!

Vacancy checker available on the LB Sutton website

www.sutton.gov.uk/downloads/file/1759/schools_mid-term_vacancy_checker

My Dcs went to All Saints Carshalton. It was a fab school. Admittedly younger DC left 6 years ago so may well have changed, especially since expanding (used to have just the one class per year).

All Saints Carshalton is 2 form intake now - and most of the 2nd form is community places rather than faith places.

I know kids from most of the schools mentioned above, parents seem happy with all of them. Bandon Hill (both sites) and Stanley Park both have outstanding Ofsted I think - Bandon Hill one is very recent.

There is generally a fair amount of waiting list movement, although I don't know anyone applying for Reception this year so not sure how it's progressing so far.

Beddington infants has spaces in reception now.. so possibly will have some next year too - really it depends on how many are born in the specific year

That said, are you 'close' to any of those schools - I think they have 'pretty close' distances.
