Hi folks,

Just wondering if anyone had direct experience of either of these schools. Just about to sign for a property on Grand Avenue. DD will be going into Y4 in September and just trying to build a picture of which school may be best for her or if they are both good. We are closest to St Andrews but not religious but I understand we could get offered a community place, other options are the RC schools as after Somerhill they are next closest. Any feedback would be much appreciated...stress!!!Hi folks,

Do you mean Cottesmore? I don't have direct experience of either but both seem to be good schools with high demand for places. Cottesmore would be closer if you're on Grand Avenue though

Thanks Helish, Cottesmore is our 3rd closest according to the route to school finder, but I did just find out about another school today that I hadn't found on the map, its the new Hove Junior School on Holland Road which only opened September last year and as such isn't oversubscribed as yet so that's another option for us to consider.

Its just so tricky to know how to move forward, we are in France and moving over this Summer and its just a stress trying to find both a home and school, but no guarantee of a school even if you choose to live in the catchment... but I'm sure it will all work out!

Luckily there aren't many poor schools in Hove so you should be ok. West Blatchington is one to avoid if it's offered but the rest are pretty good. Good luck with the move, Hove's a great place to live.
