Primary school appeal

Hi, my friend is currently appealing her primary school place. She was allocated a school which is in the same road as her ex who threatened her with a knife. She is getting the police report to add to the appeal. Does she have a good case to win an appeal and get her first choice school?

Not necessarily her first choice school but a different school given the circumstances.

I'm afraid if won't.

The appeal is for the school you want (and is very hard to win under infant class size rules, unless a mistake has been made).

I'm assuming your friend received none of her listed preferences, and this is what the LA allocated. It is usually the nearest school with a vacancy, I think you'd friend needs to talk to the admissions team, explain why this school is unacceptable, and see if they can find a different school with a vacancy. Then at least she has an offer, whilst she waits if out on waiting lists, appeals, or both.

She had it as her 3rd choice. We live in a small village so very limited on local schools x

I don't understand why it was on the list at all if she didn't feel it was a safe choice for her child to attend?

Unless the threat has happened since applications?
