Prep school Chelmsford

Hello. We are likely to be moving to Chelmsford (from London) within the next year, and have heard good things about the local prep schools, as well as the grammars later on. I have been to visit St Annes and St Cedds and both were nice, good to see decent class sizes still in existence! Will visit Widford Lodge soon, I would be extremely grateful for any feedback/thoughts on these schools. In terms of atmosphere, music/sporting records and of course academic success. I know each child is different but we only know one family at St Cedds (who love it) and nothing more about the others, so any info would be great. Many thanks in advance! My son will be age 4 entry in 2016 and is registered at all 3, until we make a decision.

I know several people whose children went to Widford Lodge and were very happy with it- all three children got into Grammar schools (one into a Chelmsford Grammar and the other two into Southend/ Westcliff Grammars.)

You might want to look at New Hall in Chelmsford too. A friend of mine had her DSs there and they were happy but I have heard mixed reports from elsewhere.
