Does anyone know anything about kingsgate primary? It is our nearest school and our second choice so I know we are lucky to get a place for dd but we had expected her to be accepted to a primary in Islington on their multiple birth policy as her twin has the school named on his SSEN and has a place to start in September (he is deaf). In truth the ofsted/dash board data is much better for kingsgate but we will be in the situation where we have to take one locally and then drive the other across london. Also I have just realised that camden and islington have different term dates which will be a nightmare. On paper our local one would seem the better one (for children who are not deaf) but I can't decide whether we should embark on an appeal.

I think having twins in the same school is so logical you should appeal.
Good luck.

Why didn't the multiple birth policy apply?

This sounds like a mistake. I suspect the council forgot that the twin applying through the normal route had a twin being admitted via a statement. Contact them and ask why they haven't followed their multiple birth policy. If you phone them make notes of what they say then send them an email confirming the conversation. If they refuse to fix the situation you should appeal on the basis that a mistake has been made.

Thanks all. From some of the other threads it seems like some in islington haven't got any of their choices and Ben given a free school that isn't even completed so maybe that is why?.. In any case as far as I am aware hey. Are supposed to take twins even if that makes them go over their class numbers so I will give them a call on Monday. Either way I think it's likely we will have to appeal as camden have refused transport on the basis that they legally don't have to until ds is 5, I would prefer not to have to appeal to both camden and islington!
