...But I wondered what do you need to do to get your child into the school of preference? Someone who lives near me posted regarding their DC not getting into the local school and the reason being something to do with no input to the CofE life (or similar). We are not of any denomination but I believe that's the school we want our DS to go to.

If you want your child to go to a faith school, you need to get onto your LA website and read the admission criteria for the school. Most will have some sort of priority for children 'of the faith', but how you are required to demonstrate that varies significantly.

No one on here can give you accurate advise (unless you wanted to name the school, which I assume you don't).

You'll need to look at the admissions criteria of the school you want. It should be on their website.

I suppose you are right tiggy Its a good few years off yet but seeing my friends disappointment at not getthing their first choices makes me feel sick at the thought of when it does become our turn. I suppose all we can do is pick the schools we really DO like/want.
