What is going on at Habs (girls)?

Habs boys was ranked as the top primary school in the country in this week's Sunday Times league tables and the girls school is not in the top 500! That means a very low number of girls attaining level 5 in English and Maths by the end of year 6.

DD is due to start in Y1 having won one of the coveted 5+ places but now I'm wondering whether she'd be better off staying where she is and taking our chances at 11+.

I don't think sats are compulsory for private schools so maybe they didn't do them

Why don't you ask the school?

AtomicDog · 07/04/2015 00:06

Surely they don't do End of KS2 tests?

balletgirlmum · 07/04/2015 00:24

They are not published in the KS2 league tables which means they either don't do SATS (common in private schools as they can spend year 6 teaching new stuff instead of endless revision) or that the cohort is so small that publishing the results would identify the results of individual children.

Definitely not a small cohort. Around 60 in Y6.

I did not realise that they might not do SATS / KS2 which would obviously explain it, but I am surprised that the boys school does and the girls school doesn't.

Definitely don't want yo ask the school and be identified as a trouble maker before DD even starts.

I expect as has been said they don't do the relevant tests/don't publish the results. Usually comes in top 10 in the UK for A levels so wouldn't worry. Well done on the place - 5+ entry is ending soon so you got one of the last year 1 places!

The most recent insoection report mentions the high KS4 (gcse) & A level results but just sites in ks3 the excellent classwork produced.

I'm surprised the boys school does sats to be honest.
