Hi Friends,

We have moved to Mickleover,Derby from London due to change of Job for DH, My Son is in reception, When we applied for school place (reception) in Mickleover, council has cited all the schools are full in Mickleover & asked us to appeal,They have indicated Bemrose Primary school can be offered or schools in Chaddesdon ? Any ideas about Stenson Fields Primary School ,A bit stressed with this situation,Any advice will be appreciated
Risha

Could you look at some of the village schools instead. Etwall. Findern. Littleover. Hilton or Willington. Depends on if you don't mind driving to the school. Though from mickle over bemrose would be closest.

I echo the above.

Chaddesden is less desirable and also a treck across town. Stenson Fields is a good school.

Search is still on as none of the schools in Littleover,Findern have places ,Someone suggested Lawn Primary SchoolAllestree, Bemrose carries its reputation from secondary days ( even though primary has just started last year) ,Fingers crossed

Finger would be nearer though the school is just outside the village.
Allestree very nice area but I would say the journey there would be a bit of a nightmare as very busy in rush hour traffic. Could you afford a private school. Do remark is a prep school ?

Perhaps you'd be better off waiting to see what they do offer you (they have to offer something), because if it is far enough away you would then qualify for free transport?

rishdhee · 09/04/2015 15:46

Thanks IK26 ,I think you meant Foremarke Hall, If nothing works out that will be one option ( expensive though ) ,then it will be case of saving for house or education :) ,But again transport will be a challenge

Thanks Miaow theCat

Thanks Saracen: Will wait for council's response & then check on the free transport option as well
