Not school staff, but our school allows these as long as children manage to put them on without help. Check with your school?

Well I found the policy and it said no boots which I assume they would be classed as Sad

ordered the shoe version instead and just hope they fit ok by end of holidays

Our school doesn't specify specific shoes and they change into indoor shoes anyway so it doesn't matter what they wear to get there and back.

Lots at our school wear them - girls as well as boys. They last well and are great for rainy weather. The girls version are ok - they last well too. Our school doesn't worry about boots - any appropriate shoes are allowed. I am always eternally grateful!

IF the school complain point out a myriad of boys "shoes" which undoubtedly would be very, very similar. And then ask why one rule for boys and another for girls...

Gileswithachainsaw · 25/03/2015 18:49

Well in all fairness it does say no boots for boys as well.

shame cos they are really nice

Brogues are a good alternative option for girls. DD loves hers
