Hello,
My DS (8) is in year 4. He is struggling in maths which is affecting his confidence.
I am looking to have him sit 11+ exams and would like to give him a boost.

Does anyone know a maths tutor that can provide 1:1 help and has actually delivered results?

Your help will be much appreciated.

Can I point you in the direction of MATHISFUN and Khanacademy.com

Khan is a free maths course sponsored by Bill Gates. MATHISFUN gives you about 30 mins free per day but it shows you all the years work that a child of your child's age could get through. Both sites have badges to be won and a scratchpad option so that you can work out on screen.
If you set yourself up as your child's coach, both sites will send you weekly reports.
MATHSISFUN has a satisfying Wow 'noise when they get a problem right. Khan has videos to watch.
Also you can get sample 11+ papers from Smiths and the school where you intend them to go.
You may not need a tutor.

Hi,
I know of an excellent tutor that I would recommend- she got results for my dd that I dreamed of. Without her it really wouldn't have been possible to have done so well in 11+
If u pm me I'll give you her details

Thank you for the tips holeinmyheart. I will check them out as I believe they will come in handy.

You mentioned I can get sample papers from Smiths, is this WHSmiths?

I am also keen on recommendation from mums who have used a maths tutor and achieved results.

If the op is trying out for watford grammar schools then her son will need a tutor. However group tuition is often effective and more affordable.
