Long Field Primary school - late application

Dear parents

Can anyone share their experience of late application to primary school admission in Harrow?

We are about to move to North Harrow. My eldest daughter is starting reception this September. The nearest school to us is Long Field primary school, which I understand is good and popular. I am concerned that, because of our late application, we won't get a place in Long Field school and will end up in another primary school that is not as good and not as close.

Thanks

If the school is full (and it will be), then you will have to go on the waiting list.

As it is London, there is a high level of families coming and going, so people do get in from waiting lists. You will be added to the waiting list (which for reception, must be kept until at least December) according to how well you fit the entrance criteria, not when you joined the list. So if you are moving very close to the school there's a good chance you'll be at or near the top of it.
