JAGS prep - put application in now?

When did you put your application in for JAGS prep?

I'm considering it for my almost 2 year old. Is it too early?

Think you can only apply the year before they will begin.

Check on the website - if it doesn't stipulate a priority to date of registration then anytime prior to the deadline is fine.

For Sept 2015 entry I put in my daughter's application in 2012/13 (as we were registering for other schools at the same time) whereas friends only applied the week before the deadline - both got in.

Alleyn's registration is/was FROM the Sept before the year of entry. I think DUCKS is the only one in the Dulwich area that operates it's admissions on registration date for nursery (not sure about reception entry).

Always best to check the website as they can change the rules for application.

If there is a good chance you will be moving out of the area before the deadline for your child then I would hold of registering as it'll cost you £50 but intermittently check the website for it's rules on admission.

Sorry about crap grammar, I blame autocorrect - its, not it's and off not of!

3Kids3 · 01/03/2015 12:28

What entry stage was that for Ridinghigh?

ridinghighinapril · 01/03/2015 13:14

Reception but a brief look at the blurb suggests it's similar for 7+ i.e both assess academic ability with no preference for date of entry.

Meant to also say on previous post that Herne Hill School (age 3-7, so pre prep) use assessment and waiting list for entry.

Ok, thanks. I was going to ask if you have any advice for the 7+ at JAGS but alas...

ridinghighinapril · 01/03/2015 15:11

Ah, sorry 3Kids3, no advice I'm afraid, although I am sure others will be able to advise. Good luck!
