7+ waiting list at private school: how much should I push

Hi all,
My daughter is on the waiting list for Bute House. Offers were made earlier this month, and movement on the waiting list should hopefully start happening now. Despite having spoken to the registrar, I'm not entirely clear where she is on the waiting list or indeed how it works - doesn't seem to be a straightforward 'places offered in order of waiting list rank'. Is it worth me calling/writing to the registrar to express our interest? I know some mums whose daughters are on the waiting list at otehr schools have done it. And if I do call or write, should I just do it once? How far should I push it before it looks like I'm stalking the registrar?
Thanks for your views!

Hello - I don't think a phone call or letter would hurt your daughter's chances of getting into Bute. It just might show how keen you are for your daughter to go there. If you don't hear from them right away, maybe check in every few weeks. I wish you and your daughter the best of luck.

I would call rather than email. Do it once and then ask when would be a good time to follow up again. Express it's your first choice. Good luck!

If the acceptance deadline is very close, you can of course call to inquire if they have already received all the replies.

They would already know that you are keen, so saying it again may not make any difference.

I'd keep it low key and avoid being pushy. They do not like it.
