hi all, anyone here knowing the schools in Farnham Common and Stoke poges? How are they? Any one who had to move in the area past the Jan deadline for a place and still got in without problems in the June second round or even later? thank you

I believe khalsa secondary school has places. :)

It's not very popular with the locals because it's a Sikh school.

ah, thanks, we are looking for a primary and are not sikh

Bucks CC keep a list with primary vacancies. Give their admissions office a ring or look on the web site. You may be lucky, but generally very few schools have places.

You can always phone the schools direct.

You do need to bear in mind that whether or not you were Sikh wouldn't have bearing on whether you were offered a place at Khalsa. If that was where there was a place, that is where you would be offered. Iqra is the same.

I think there are now a few faith schools in Slough and this will be the case for them too.

Sorry, I don't know about Farnham or Stoke Poges. Agree with PP to phone Bucks CC.

Stoke Poges has a really good reputation BTW. I once took a child (into a behavioural unit) that had come from there and they had done a brilliant job of including him for a lot longer than many other schools would have managed- and their paperwork was beautiful! Grin

sorry I do not understand, if we will be living in Bucks, can they assign my daughter to a school in Berkshire? Slough is not Bucks, it is just over the county boarder.....The sikh school is in Slough.
Thanks for the tip MillyMollyMama, will definitely do both; and glad to hear Stoke Poges has a good school!
