Have joined PTA and it seems as if some of the stuff they are doing is the same as when I went to the same school - any ideas for fundraising that have worked well?

Here are some things our PTA is doing:

can you forward on to the relevant person/s if you think these ideas may be helpful?

2016 Calendar: ask each class to produce a piece of art or have a competition in each class for a picture to go in the calendar. Have them professionally printed and bound and then sell to parents - just in time for Christmas!

On the Christmas note, you could have a competition for the years to draw a festive picture - the winner/s get their picture published on the school christmas cards which parents could purchase.

Or organise a film night - the copyright can be purchased from this compny: www.filmbankmedia.com/films/ - then organise a film night in the hall charging a fee for students and/or parents to watch. Additional funds could be generated by a popcorn stall and refreshment stall.

How about a quiz or curry night for parents or even a cheese and wine night / wine tasting

Or organise a shopping evening for parents whereby stallholders of local businesses pay a fee or pay 10% of takings.

A car boot sale could be a good money earner too - a £10 fee for sellers and a refreshment stall would be popular.

Our PTA gets a professional photographer in to do family photos. £10 per 10 min slot (for the PTA) and they get a percentage of orders too.
