Summer holiday dates in Scotland

Just trying to sort out time off work to cover the summer holidays. On checking out the 2015/2016 calendar it looks like they go back on 17th August? (I am in Edinburgh). I was expecting it to be the previous Wednesday - as I need childcare/time off to cover Wed and Thu this is a big difference. Is it true? Are they really getting 7 weeks off this year?

ours close the 25th June and go back 18th August so yes, just over 7 weeks!

Depends on the area. They get six weeks most years but every few years they get a seven-weeker.
