Bellevue Education - prep schools

My child's school has just been taken over by Bellevue, and so far unsure if this will have a positive or negative effect. Does anybody have any experience of the company and the impact they've had on a school your child has attended?

Bellevue are a for profit company which are growing rapidly by acquiring new schools, doing this in two ways, by buying existing independent schools, which I assume is what has happened in your case, and by participating in the Government's Free School program, where, of course, all the funding comes from the tax payer. As it is a quite new company getting some idea of a track record is probably difficult.
There is a wikipedia entry on Bellevue here.

You could also, if you have the stamina, have a look at this mumsnet thread (its grown to over 300 messages and you probably need to read it from the start to get a grasp of what is going on)

It mostly concerns a new Free School, Whitehall Park School, which is being set up by Bellevue.

You will see that there is quite a debate, with posts both for and against.
