Primary schools in Colchester

Hello, my family and I are relocating to Colchester from Bromley, Kent in the summer holidays. DS is in Yr 3 and DD is in Yr 1 currently at Parish Primary School (an outstanding Ofsted and highly rated school).
I am looking to send DS to Colchester Grammar eventually.
Would appreciate some advice and feedback on the best primary schools and a good family friendly area to live. DH is a starting out as a consultant at Essex County Hospital so can't live too far from Colchester.

Are you looking for state schools? Highwoods primary got i think half a dozen kids into the Grammar last year and will probably be upgraded soon to outstanding - you would have to live within their catchment area though, Highwoods is close to the general hospital and not to far from county - I thought they were closing county?

If your looking for private then oxford house is the crammer for the grammar school and next door to Essex County hospital :-)
