My Yr 2 DS is struggling with this at the moment.
I think he finds it difficult to keep up whilst also concentrating on spelling and joining up his writing (which still does not come automatically).
His teacher places a great deal of emphasis on dictation being a skill that he he needs to develop as it will be needed throughout his school life.
She has suggested we do some practice at home. And so we have started to do 3 sentences a day which he seems to be amenable to doing.
Any other hints and tips to improve this skill?
