Bossy vowels anyone??

Can anyone explain to me what they are, my children are doing them at school at the moment and i have no clue, cheers

When 2 vowels go walking the first one does the talking

Said is actually a 'tricky' word but generally it is the 'long' vowel sounds

ai as in pain
ea as in tea
ie as in tie
oa as in goat
ue as in rescue

The Jolly phonics video mentions the two vowels walking idea but it does not work with all children - my dd took to it well but my ds just prefers to learn the sounds from the CD
