Hi everyone - do people think that 6 is too young for a tutor? My ds1 is 6 yrs old and is at the local primary. He seems quite bright (i would say that!) but not very keen on working/homework and he is at risk of falling behind. I thought maybe if i got a tutor that he liked for an hour a week he might get more intersted in doing some work. Or is 6 yrs too young for a tutor? I dont want to hothouse him just want him to be more interested. Or maybe a tutor cant help with this kind of thing?

I think its much too young.

If they are bright there is plenty of time at primary school to see that develop.

I'd focus on the extra curricular activities rather than bolstering the curricular ones.

Sport, music, drama, theatre, reading, art - after school or at the weekends and only when they enjoy it and aren't exhausted.
