UCS, Habs, Highgate : has your ds sat/is he sitting 7+?

Hi,

My ds has sat UCS and Habs, but I could not get much out of him. Has your ds sat those exams? Do you know what they did? My Ds did not answer quite a few questions at Habs, is there any hope of him getting in anyway if he has done the rest well? Please let me know, I really appreciate it.

Siyababy I know a few people who went to UCS and are now university aged. They are all very independent workers, so maybe UCS's laid back attitude would be good for your son - it would instil values of having to work independently and motivating himself rather than someone constantly motivating him perhaps?

Just to offer a little hope as I thought about it today when I droped our son. We were 7+ wait listed for Highgate. We had 3 days of biting finger nails & I kept bursting into tears. Headmaster Mr James called us on Friday afternoon to save us waiting until the letter came. So exactly a year ago today. We did neither Habs or UCS as we wanted sporty, co-ed. No sibling at Highgate. Summer born. State school boy. Can happen. Fingers crossed as the waiting is agony

CB2009 - thank you :-) It breaks my heart to see my DS on waitlist at habs, Highgate and UCS....so near but not there yet!!! It is very stressful as we dont have a backup yet!!! I just have my fingers crossed as the acceptance deadline for Highgate and UCS is 8th and I am hoping that the ones who had 2 offers would have taken Habs by now and therefore there will be chances of offers in other 2!!!

Do you know where you are on waitlist at HABS? I know of at least one family dropping HABS for another school. Just giving you some hope.

njshore - has this family already paid the deposit at habs and are accepting elsewhere later? because I got a call yesterday evening from habs and they said all the places have been accepted. We are 2nd on the WL. You have left my hopes soaring again!!!

We just got a call from habs today and my DS has been offered a place!!! I am so pleased:-)) njshore - could be the family U were saying who pulled out!!

@Siyababy we are in exact situation as you with UCS and Habs offer and reserve list for Highgate. What did you end up doing and are you happy with your decision ?

@KGmom we went with Habs in the end and really happy with the decision. It is such a wholesome school. He's been there 4 years now.
