Year 6 project- aibu?

Aibu to be annoyed that dd's teacher has set a massive homework in the crazy, busy last week of term? It is a project on a subject of their own choosing. It needs to be at least 5 pages long with contents page and references page, pictures, page numbers, models (optional) and then they have to do a presentation to the class on thurs/fri this week.
Dd has decided to do it on Xmas food- a great idea but then she wants to do cooking and take photos of what she makes so that'll be even more time consuming.
This is compared with their average homework which is always about 1 page in length and never requires references, pictures, pagination or whatever.
Usually the teachers set a really easy homework at this time knowing that families are extra busy with Christmas preparations. Dh and I both work in retail too so we are working 6 days a week ATM and could really do without the extra hassle that such a project entails. Dd was busy at the weekend with a big Christmas party on Saturday and then singing in a Christmas show on Sunday. She is just too busy!!

Personally, I wouldn't bother doing it. Seems a bit daft to me.

Are you sure it's not something that was handed out weeks ago?

I'd be suspicious too that this was only set for one week. A project like that in yr6 would be do it over 4-6 weeks homework. Or for a table of kids to do together over a couple of weeks.
