At current ps my son gets 1 piece of lit and 1 of num for w/e. We are soon relocating to Hants - will he have a shock?

We are in Surrey (high-performing Church state school)and ds1 gets one piece of literary and one piece of numeracy for the weekend. He is expected to read several nights a week from his reading book, I usually ensure he does it each night. He also has about 15 spellings each week for Friday which come on a worksheet with a couple of items related to the spellings. And that's it!

Dd1 gets 1 peice of literacy and 1 peice of numeracy on a friday to be completed by the wednesday. She also gets spellings and I have completely forgotten when they have to be done for

She also has a reading book and is expected to change it once a week.

Spellings
Maths sheet

Occasional other bits (not much)

Just about to start a project on The Romans - they've got about three weeks in which to complete it (doing some work in school, some at home).

ds gets one literacy and one numeracy sheet during the week plus history, science or geography at weekend, reading book and weekly spellings.

Thanks everyone - I feel reassured that things will not be too daunting after all. We don't get spellings and he has no reading book and we don't get worksheets - things are more project orientated, but we could handle a little more of those types of things easily. Thank you for your feedback - this is my first time on mn so good to find it so friendly!

my YR 4 has one bit of homework a week (numeracy and literacy alternate weeks)

My Yr3 hasnt had ANY homework yet and reading is optional!

So you get to have a fun weekend instead - far better for the sanity levels!
