Local school advertising in bakery for after school support volunteers

In Paris. Our local state primary is "desperate" to recruit local volunteers to provide after school support one-on-one to pupils who "badly need" help.

I don't doubt they do. But I am shocked at the desperate tone and approach.

I guess that having parents who either can't or are too lazy to give educational support is an international problem. I hope the school find some suitable individuals who volunteer for the right reasons.

Well if they are desperate, then they are desperate, and obviously doing whatever they can to try and fill these roles. What would you like them to do to make you happy?

Do they vet candidates? Or are they desperate enough to let just about anyone fill the posts?

I think this would worry me too.

If this is a state school and they need more personnel then surely there are channels for adding staff. If a private school then they really should sit down and plan, and ask parents for more money to cover suitable staff for their programmes.

Just reread and see it is a state primary. Blush
