KS1 teachers/TAs - what resources do you like?

Talking idly to DS(6)'s teacher today, I learned that she finds "maths resources" really useful. This turned out to mean things like number cards.

What other resources are useful? I have a load of coloured card and paper, and a laminator. What could I be knocking up over the weekend to help his class?

If it is for the whole class, rather than just your child to use at home it is probably best to ask the teacher, as you don't know what she already has.

But useful resources include - hundred squares, number-lines, empty number tracks, place value cards, tens and units base cards for using with dienes blocks, bases for board games with tracks, coins, number fans, blank clock faces to use with a dry wipe pen.

Why not offer to make thing to her specification . Tell her what you have to hand and see if there are set of cards for example she would like you to make.
Also if you are as lovely and enthusiastic as you seem you would be an asset to the classroom if you could spare some time to read or work with the children. Sitting with a group while they make, say, bookmarks for Christmas presents and then taking them home to laminate would be a great help. Why not sound the teacher out about what would help best?

Actually, this conversation happened while I was helping in the classroom and I asked her to email me a wishlist. But her non-contact is Friday morning so I doubt she'd get round to it before then and I was wondering if there would be anything universally useful I could be getting on with in the meantime.
